Maslansky Eye Care and Middletown

Official seal of Middletown Township, New JerseyAt Maslansky Eye Care we are proud to serve the eye care needs of the Middletown community. But, as proud as we are to serve the community, we’re just as proud to be part of the community! Whether you’re just stopping in from out of town for your annual eye exam, or you live just around the corner from our eye care clinic, take a look below to learn a bit more about why we love Middletown.

One of the biggest reasons why we love this city is the high living standards here! In 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2014, Middletown was voted among CNNMoney.com’s Top 100 Best Places to Live, and Time Magazine seconded that honor in 2014! With low crime, a great public school system and access to all sorts of incredible cultural activities, Middletown is a thriving community! With rail service from Middletown Station to New York City’s Pennsylvania Station and Bay Head Station along the New Jersey Coastline, Middletown also boasts a great transportation system!

While you’re around, and if you’re feeling brave, take a look-out for the “Evil Clown of Middletown,” a towering sign along Route 35, painted to resemble a circus clown. The sign is a remnant of an old supermarket called “Food Circus,” which used to be located there a long time ago. The clown and recent successful attempts from residents to save it from demolition have been featured in the pages of Weird NJ magazine, on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and in the Kevin Smith-directed film Clerks II.

And if you’re around in April, make sure to see (and maybe participate in?) The Indian Trails 15K road race! This race benefits the Monmouth Conservation Foundation and includes a 5K walk/run event, just for fun. It’s the most challenging race in the state, with a combination on paved and dirt roads, including a lot of steep hills.
